All Outdoor History projects are steeped deep empirical research, grounded in real places, and feature creative platforms to deliver content.

With extensive historical knowledge, breadth of research methods, and innovative tools, we concept, design, refine, and execute tailor made projects for individual clients, corporate firms, and governmental agencies. We are dedicated to taking history beyond the walls of archives and libraries. We deliver nimble and comprehensive historical narratives that engage imaginations and memories.

Connecting with people

How can you incorporate history into your work?

  • Identify and amplify discreet community histories that you work around and with to feature their uniqueness.
  • Document local experts, honor a long term employee, or record institutional knowledge with an Oral History project.

  • Design a creative mitigation strategy as part of a state or federal compliance project.
  • Research and develop the history of a building, property, or person; who lived and worked here, what it may have looked like, and other notable events.
  • Develop a local history context statement that defines your architectural or development project’s place in the neighborhood.
  • Help your employees understand the place that they work in, both physically and as an institution.
  • Celebrate a milestone with an administrative or corporate history.
  • Research the origins of policies and procedures of your institution: who initiated them and why, how they have changed, and if they should change to fit your organization today.
  • Develop strategies for your own collections and research needs.
